For residents abroad
WHAT IS A TAX REPRESENTATIVE
Any resident abroad (i.e. Greek expatriate, EU citizen, third country citizen) who pays taxes in Greece, usually because he owns property or has a business activity in Greece, but does not have a postal address in Greece, should appoint a tax representative (previously proxy). The tax representative should be a Greek tax resident and all mail concerning the taxpayer is sent to the representative's address (Circ. 1283/2013).
WHEN REQUIRED
To register for a Greek Tax Identification Number (AFM) you need to provide the Tax Office for Residents Abroad (or the competent Tax Office for taxpayers not in Attica) with the representative's details.
In case you decide to appoint a new tax representative, you need to submit the amendment to the tax authority, within 10 days.
